Movable Joint African Doll from China New Variants

There are new variants for the African dolls with movable joints from China. They come in fantasy-colored hair. They come nude, though.

While the novelty is in the hair, I can't say it is of good quality. The hair isn't soft. The curls easily become wavy and messy.

Let's see if I can turn them into something I like.

Barbie Fashionista 81 (Wear your Heart) Petite

After over a decade of captivity by the Mattelorists, Kira, the first token Asian friend of Barbie, was released back to Playline City. People rejoiced.

She made a number of public appearances after her release:
- Barbie Pink Passport Beach Set
- I Can be Scientist
- Fashionista 81 (Wear Your Heart) Petite
- Fashionista 62 (Sweet for Silver) Petite

I was only able to catch one of her appearances. I was happy to see her again but I felt something about her changed.

I spent some time to get to know her to find out what. I compared her to my memories because someone you love leaves memories too vivid to erase, even if memories are highly unreliable at times.

There is one thing I'm sure of. After her experience with the Mattelorist, she now views the world differently.

Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Mermaid Doll

This just takes me somewhere different, away from the hard realities. That's privilege.

While this doll could use a makeover, there is no urgency. The possibilities always wait. For now, I'll enjoy it as it is.

Barbie Dreamtopia Sparkle Mountain Fairy Doll

I have more than enough dolls with the Goddess sculpt. I have more than enough dolls with hot pink hair. I have a lot of dolls I want to repaint and I don't have the time. The only thing going for this doll is the price and the possibilities.

Better than Kids Craze Warehouse Sale by Richprime

This weekend (and in the upcoming two weekends), the sole licensed distributor of Mattel products, Richprime Global aka Richwell, is having a warehouse sale where items have at least 20% off. While I have been disappointed in the previous sales they've conducted, I decided to give it a try this year. I didn't even bother last year. I was really ready to be disappointed again. At least my expectations were met.

Richwell sales are always stressful. Prices are not properly tagged. They have this lazy system of taping the discount on the shelf as if they don't expect the items to be disorganized after buyers rummage through the items. The item one would think was 50% off was just actually 20% off.

New items are only 20% off. This is as good as buying from a major toy store if you have a privilege card. The latest items like the Made to Move dolls in floral leggings are not sold in the warehouse. It's better to wait for the mall sales if you're aiming for only 20% discount.

The cheapest fairy and Fashionista dolls in decent packaging being sold in the warehouse I saw was PhP500 while many cost more. In their Facebook page, they posted dolls worth PhP300 only. While I may like the price, the options available there are not to my liking. I did like a doll but the next stress I had to deal with is the long line at the cashier. It's too much for a single doll. I left without buying anything.

A week before, I was in Divisoria. I saw this fairy doll using a goddess mold with pink hair and dark skin. I didn't get it then because I was on a budget. Maybe next time.

My disappoinment from the Richwell sale made me go back to Divisoria, to get that doll of color Richwell doesn't sell. I was pleasantly surprised to find more dolls I wanted to buy. I planned to buy only one but I ended up buying 5. At PhP350 each, it was the best price I've seen for these items. Hand-me-down Barbie dolls cost more than that.

There are other dolls being sold at Divisoria. If you are looking for Barbie dolls at a good price, skip the Kids Craze warehouse sale and go to Divisoria. We don't know how long the stocks will last.
